Exams:Emotional/Mental Stress and relief

Assalamualaikum!
My exams are here.. It has been a tough fight. Stress is not uncommon. I feel a great peace of mind when I play basketball or just watch TV with my fellow Irsyadians. They relieve my stress, they remind me of the great times we had back then at Irsyad @winstedt road. I reminisce the happy memories, looking at my past, I see my future..
Life is hard. It's really really hard. But to quote Shaheed's Facebook status, "when u feel like giving up, remember why you hold on for so long to it in the first place.."

And I am remembering why I held on so long in the first place.. Irsyad.

Salam... Peace

P.s. I am blogging on an iPad..! XD

Year 2010

Hey there people!
Its the year 2010..16 days after it has started though.. :D
I've been too busy to post or blog or do anything online..

School's tough now that I am a senior..That's right..Long White Pants..Sweetness...

It has been quite a journey since I entered Victoria School. After a year, I'm much more comfortable with the different environment.

The holidays have been quite a blast. Waveboarding here and there and everywhere. We mainly go waveboarding at the multistorey carpark at my house, East Coast Park (when there are many people, so they can rent boards there too), and Bishan Harmony Park, which is super-near Irsyad and our houses. Bishan Harmony Park is our favourite because there are ramps, grinding-bars and half-pipes. On a weekday, we usually get there at around 10AM as there wouldn't be anyone so we can hog the entire place. We don't go there on weekends as there is a very high chance that it will be occupied 100% of the time. It's not safe to ride in a crowded skatepark.

School starts. I have been studying like its my year to take O levels when its actually in 2011. Its highly imperative that I focus on every lesson and revise every topic due to the horrible nature of the O level syllabus. If I missed anything, I wouldn't be able to understand the next topic and so on. It will be a very horribly vicious cycle.

By the way here are the subjects that I am taking:
English Language
Higher Malay Language
Elementary Maths
Additional Maths
Combined Humanities-(Geography Elective+Social Studies)
Pure Physics
Pure Chemistry
Art Elective Programme (Higher Art)
Third Language (Arabic)

Total Subjects: 9

Two points about my subject combination that annoys me..There's Arabic, and there ISN'T Pure Biology. Haizzzz...my life is over..

So Week 2 of Term 1 just ended, and I just cam back 5 hours ago from the Skate Park. It was the most fun I've had in weeks! Luqman Nurhakeem, Abdullah, Haziq, Mr. Izzad, Ruzaini, Asyraf, and later Mr. Ismam dropped by.

I brought my Angel Blue and my dad's Nikon D200. Abdullah brought his Angel Red. Luqman brought some rollerblades. Haziq brought nothing, except ice lemon tea, Mr. Izzad brought his Ripstik-G and a customized skateboard, Ruzaini and Asyraf brought their skateboards, Mr. Ismam cycled to the skatepark. It was great. I learnt to ride the skateboard and tried to do ollie in which I failed miserably.

After like 2 hours of playing, we rested (with drinks we bought from SPC[Petrol Station]) and watched a bunch of pros doing awesome tricks on the ramps.

Today supposedly Luqman, Shazaa, Ruzaini, Hijannah wanted to meet up later on to 'revise'...but I went home earlier so I don't know how that turned out.

Okay, that's all for today.

Last Day Of School!

Wow..its already been a whole year!

Assalamualaikum,

It seems like it was just yesterday when I was feeling unsure about whether or not to attend leave Irsyad and transfer to Victoria School. Now, everything feels very weird, sad kind of weird. Sec 2 in VS is like a really long camp, a year long. Like when the camp ends, we say goodbye and feel sad about leaving each other. Next year, I may be going to a different class from my 2E buddies.

Today I received my report card. Well, it could have been better.I did very well for the whole year, except, my end-years. Due to G@/\/\!(\)G...But, lucky for me I was eligble for 20/22 available subject combinations. Unfortunately for me, I can only take 4 of those due to the fact that I am in AEP. Nevertheless, it does not matter which class I go to, I must do better and better next year.

Life's nice.

After Friday prayers today, I went home, surfed the internet a little. Then, I received a call.

"Aziz, are you free?"
"Er, yeah.."
"Want to watch movie?"
"Ok, what show?"
"Michael Jackson's This is it"
"REALLY?!?!?! sure! Who else going?"
"Me, Luqman (Hakim), and Haziq,"
"Abdullah?"
"Nope."
"But he likes MJ,"
"You know him, always buy DVDs, seldom go to the movies"
"I see.."
"Come down quick"
"Wait la, I need to bathe."
"-__-||" << How's this possible? Beats me.
"Nevermind, you all go first, I'll catch up with you later"
"Take bus 88, meat at Ang Mo Kio hub"
"OK"

It was from Luqman Nur.

One word, awesome. The movie was taken from clips of his rehearsals weeks before his death. He seemed perfectly fine to me. BUT, a website called, This-Is-Not-It.com proved otherwise.

The site was created by those diehard fans of Michael Jackson who were at the rehearsals. They saw the terrible state that he was in. They could see that he could die anytime. Many fans sent letters to the producers to take care of Michael Jackson's health instead of forcing him to work 10 hours a day rehearsing.

Here's the deal, and logic. What do they hope to acheive from the campaign? Stop from watching the movie to prevent the company from making money? It won't bring Michael back to life, THAT is for sure. This is just revenge, for the negligence that Michael's managers had towards his health. Pointless.

Regardless of the controversy, campaigns and "boycotts", I enjoyed the show, and THAT is what is truly important. Michael would have wanted us to enjoy and appreciate his work.

Well, that is all I guess,

Help

Assalamualaikum,

It's been an eternity since I last blogged about something. I can assure you that many things have happened. I feel like I've lost my path. Many things happens that put me off course from my ultimate goal. The path has been planned. I must just follow it. If all goes right, Insya Allah, the world will benefit.

Here are some things we missed:
  • CA2 exams
  • Ramadhan @ VS
  • Hari Raya
  • SA2 exams
Right now everything seems all screwed up. My only hope is..a miracle. Hari Raya was the only happy thing that happened to me. I was able to meet up with many of my old friends. It was kinda fun while it lasted.

Exams is ruined. All I can say is that I hope I will be able to get the subject combination I want.

Peace...Salam [(:P)<-<

22 July (Pi Approximation Day/Longest Solar Eclipse of the century)

Assalamualaikum,

It actually feels good to be blogging once again. Looking back on my previous post, I realised I've been blogging once a month. I am writing today to touch on some interesting events that happened recently in my life. So its Week 5 of Term 3 in Victoria School. Basketball on Fridays have been going on I assure you people.

Its been seven months since I step into Victoria school, and I feel different. I made new friends, definitely. And also strengthened old bonds. I miss life at Irsyad. I miss the "kampung" atmosphere, the fresh air every morning at Winstedt Road. I miss the canteen. I miss the CO-OP. The eco-garden, dusty but pleasant atmosphere of the classrooms. I miss staring out into the seemingly-neverending field, where Irsyadians have house tournaments, ran around, played "water-bombs" or just hang out. I miss that massive tree. I miss all my friends, peer tutors and everything. To list all the amazing things that I experience, people I met and got to know, things I've learnt and understood, in Irsyad, would be impossible.

Ok, touching moment over.

Updates:
Yesterday I boarded a bus 55 from Victoria School, and guess what, I saw an elderly couple smuggle a dog onto a bus. A picture speaks a thousand words. Since my video has approximately more than 12 frames per second and my video is around 52 seconds, so doing the necessary calculations..
I will show you 37,440,000 words..
Enjoy..

Actually I didn't notice it until I saw the reflection of the dog on the window of the bus.

Today:
22 July 2009 is Pi Approximation Day. The day commemorates the time Archimedes found the approximation of Pi which is 22/7 hence 22 July. Similar to Pi Day which is on March 14 (3.14). There were Pi Pies sold at school.(More puns) They are basically pies with the Pi symbol on it. Cost 1 dollar. Blueberry pies the size of my palm. All proceeds goes to the Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. I bought one.

Also there was a Solar Eclipse. You know, where the sun is blocked by the moon. It was the longest in the century..!

Salam...Peace [(:P)<-<
